DIY BTO Painting Timeline & Checklist

Materials Checklist
- Paint (calculate coverage needed)
- Primer
- Rollers and roller covers
- Paint brushes (2" and 3" angled)
- Paint tray
- Painter's tape
- Drop cloths
- Sandpaper (120, 220 grit)
- Spackling compound
- Ladder or step stool
Day 1: Preparation
- Clean all walls
- Fill holes and cracks
- Sand rough spots
- Tape edges and trim
- Lay drop cloths
Day 2: Primer
- Apply primer to all surfaces
- Allow 4-6 hours to dry
- Inspect for missed spots
Day 3-4: First Coat
- Cut in edges with brush
- Roll walls in W pattern
- Allow full drying (6+ hours)
Day 5: Second Coat
- Apply second coat
- Remove tape while wet
- Touch up as needed
