French Riviera Rich / Statement Wellness Painting Theme

French Riviera Rich pairs Gush Sandy Mandy (NE005B) on the main walls with a Raffles Mocha Silk limewash feature wall — a cool, high-contrast coastal blue scheme that feels fresh, open. It suits the living room or bedroom, and works with white oak, linen, rope. Its cool undertone stays crisp under 4000K–5000K light; very warm 2700K–3000K bulbs can make Mocha Silk look greyer. French Riviera draws on the southern European coastal vernacular of the Cote d'Azur, where whitewashed walls, shutters, stone and shaded terraces adapted to strong Mediterranean sun.

Design history

History and meaning

French Riviera draws on the southern European coastal vernacular of the Cote d'Azur, where whitewashed walls, shutters, stone and shaded terraces adapted to strong Mediterranean sun. From the late nineteenth century the Riviera became a winter resort for European and American elites, and the Cote d'Azur modernism of the 1920s and 1930s — seen in villas and hotels designed for figures such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and later Eileen Gray's E-1027 house at Roquebrune — fused that vernacular with modern planning. The theme favours white oak, linen and rope within a coastal-blue palette, so a living room reads as fresh and open.

What it represents: It represents fresh, open character through a coastal blue palette and the recognisable visual language of French Riviera.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give white oak, linen, rope a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

How it feels at home

Sandy Mandy on the main walls keeps the French Riviera scheme richer, more anchored and practical for living room / bedroom. Mocha Silk as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits white oak, linen, rope. The cool cast helps reduce visual heat and keeps daylight feeling clear, while the limewashed focal wall adds calm depth without visual clutter.
