Southwestern Soft / Airy Wellness Painting Theme

Southwestern Soft pairs Gush Breadwinner (NE028B) on the main walls with a Raffles Terracota limewash feature wall — a warm, high-contrast southwestern earth scheme that feels crafted, grounded. It suits the living room or dining room, and works with adobe, leather, woven textile. Its warm undertone glows under 3000K warm white in the evening; under 5000K daylight bulbs it reads cleaner and less golden. Southwestern draws on the vernacular and revival architecture of the American Southwest, where Pueblo and Spanish colonial adobe traditions, developed over centuries by Native Pueblo peoples and Spanish settlers, shaped thick-walled earthen buildings later codified as the Santa Fe and Pueblo Revival styles from the early twentieth century.

Design history

History and meaning

Southwestern draws on the vernacular and revival architecture of the American Southwest, where Pueblo and Spanish colonial adobe traditions, developed over centuries by Native Pueblo peoples and Spanish settlers, shaped thick-walled earthen buildings later codified as the Santa Fe and Pueblo Revival styles from the early twentieth century. The aesthetic favours adobe, leather and woven textile within a southwestern-earth palette, so a living room reads as crafted and grounded, where the region's genuine adobe and weaving traditions define a warm, earthy, characterful room.

What it represents: It represents crafted, grounded character through a southwestern earth palette and the recognisable visual language of Southwestern.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give adobe, leather, woven textile a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

How it feels at home

Breadwinner on the main walls keeps the Southwestern scheme lighter, airier and practical for living / dining. Terracota as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits adobe, leather, woven textile. The warm undertone makes the room feel settled and welcoming, while the limewashed focal wall adds sun-baked texture without making the home feel heavy.

Colours under different light

From warm evening to clear daylight

5000K · Daylight white

Cooler and clearer; blue, green and mineral-grey notes read more distinctly.

Soft or Rich

How Southwestern Soft differs from its twin

Southwestern Soft uses Gush Breadwinner with Raffles Terracota (high contrast, crafted, grounded). Its Rich twin swaps to Gush Supper Stretch with Raffles Burnt Amber (medium contrast, crafted, grounded). Pick Soft for a lighter, more open room, smaller HDB spaces or rooms with limited daylight; pick Rich if you want the wall to anchor the room.
