Vietnamese Contemporary Soft / Airy Wellness Painting Theme

Vietnamese Contemporary Soft pairs Gush Chiffonade (BG008A) on the main walls with a Raffles Silver Sage limewash feature wall — a cool-neutral, medium-contrast muted green scheme that feels restorative, natural. It suits the bedroom or study, and works with oak, rattan, indoor plants. Its cool-neutral undertone stays crisp under 4000K–5000K light; very warm 2700K–3000K bulbs can make Silver Sage look greyer. Vietnamese Contemporary draws on the modern reinterpretation of Vietnamese domestic design, where French-colonial Indochine layers, tropical climate and traditional craft meet contemporary planning.

Design history

History and meaning

Vietnamese Contemporary draws on the modern reinterpretation of Vietnamese domestic design, where French-colonial Indochine layers, tropical climate and traditional craft meet contemporary planning. Since the 2000s, designers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have worked with rattan, local timber and natural materials within open, light-filled apartments, often softening the colonial palette into calmer greens. The direction favours oak, rattan and indoor plants, so a living room reads as restorative and natural, where Vietnamese craft and tropical greenery are integrated into a restrained, contemporary plan rather than a historicist setting.

What it represents: It represents restorative, natural character through a muted green palette and the recognisable visual language of Vietnamese Contemporary.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give oak, rattan, indoor plants a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

How it feels at home

Chiffonade on the main walls keeps the Vietnamese Contemporary scheme lighter, airier and practical for bedroom / study. Silver Sage as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits oak, rattan, indoor plants. The cool cast helps reduce visual heat and keeps daylight feeling clear, while the limewashed focal wall adds calm depth without visual clutter.
