Raw Luxury Soft / Airy Wellness Painting Theme

Design history

History and meaning

Raw Luxury is a contemporary direction, prominent from the 2010s, that joins high material craft with deliberately unfinished surfaces. It draws on the wabi-sabi-influenced work of Axel Vervoordt and on the textured, earth-bound interiors of studios such as Studio KO, where clay plaster, raw timber and handmade ceramics replace polished finishes. The direction values the visible mark of the maker — uneven edges, mineral texture, patina — within otherwise luxurious rooms, so a living room reads as quiet and artisanal, grounding comfort in honest, tactile material rather than gloss.

What it represents: It represents quiet, artisanal character through a earth neutral palette and the recognisable visual language of Raw Luxury.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give clay pottery, raw timber, handmade ceramics a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

Colour wellness

How it feels at home

Prana on the main walls keeps the Raw Luxury scheme lighter, airier and practical for living room / dining. Cotton Candy as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits clay pottery, raw timber, handmade ceramics. The warm undertone makes the room feel settled and welcoming, while the limewashed focal wall adds sun-baked texture without making the home feel heavy.

Colours under different light

From warm evening to clear daylight

3000K · Warm white

Warmer and softer; creams, reds and timber undertones become more noticeable.

4000K · Neutral white

The most balanced view of the pairing, with warm and cool notes held evenly.

5000K · Daylight white

Cooler and clearer; blue, green and mineral-grey notes read more distinctly.

These are lighting representations, not exact paint samples. Room direction, daylight and furnishings affect the final result, so compare a physical sample at home before approval.

Soft or Rich

How Raw Luxury Soft differs from its twin

Raw Luxury Soft uses Gush Prana with Raffles Cotton Candy (high contrast, quiet, artisanal). Its Rich twin swaps to Gush Coffee Beam with Raffles Military Gray (high contrast, quiet, artisanal). Pick Soft for a lighter, more open room, smaller HDB spaces or rooms with limited daylight; pick Rich if you want the wall to anchor the room.
