Santorini Rich / Statement Wellness Painting Theme

Santorini Rich pairs Gush Lazuli (BL020B) on the main walls with a Raffles Indigo Lagoon limewash feature wall — a cool, high-contrast mediterranean blue scheme that feels crisp, confident. It suits the living room or dining room, and works with limestone, white linen, cobalt ceramic. Its cool undertone stays crisp under 4000K–5000K light; very warm 2700K–3000K bulbs can make Indigo Lagoon look greyer. This theme draws on Santorini's volcanic-island architecture, where the cave houses, or yposkafa, carved into the soft pumice of the caldera cliffs, and the blue-domed churches follow the rim above the Aegean.

Design history

History and meaning

This theme draws on Santorini's volcanic-island architecture, where the cave houses, or yposkafa, carved into the soft pumice of the caldera cliffs, and the blue-domed churches follow the rim above the Aegean. The form developed in response to a scarcity of building material, the need for thermal stability and the steep topography after the island's great volcanic eruption of roughly 1600 BCE. Whitewashing was enforced by regulation in the twentieth century. The theme favours limestone, white linen and cobalt ceramic within a mediterranean-blue palette, so a living room reads as crisp and confident, rooted in a genuine island vernacular.

What it represents: It represents crisp, confident character through a mediterranean blue palette and the recognisable visual language of Santorini.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give limestone, white linen, cobalt ceramic a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

How it feels at home

Lazuli on the main walls keeps the Santorini scheme richer, more anchored and practical for living / dining. Indigo Lagoon as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits limestone, white linen, cobalt ceramic. The cool cast helps reduce visual heat and keeps daylight feeling clear, while the limewashed focal wall adds calm depth without visual clutter.
