One-Day HDB Painting: Repaint Your Flat in One Working Day

Why one day works for HDB

A typical 4-room HDB has roughly 250–320 m² of paintable surface. With a 4–6 person crew, fast-drying eco paint (touch-dry in 30 min, recoat in 90), and a sequence painting ceilings while walls cure, the entire flat fits inside an 8–10 hour window.

What the day looks like

1. 08:30 — Setup & protection. Floors, furniture, switches masked. Crack patching and sealer where needed.
2. 09:30 — First coat. Ceilings + walls in parallel, room by room.
3. 13:00 — Lunch break. Coats cure during downtime.
4. 14:00 — Second coat. Final pass on all surfaces.
5. 17:30 — Cleanup & handover. Tape removed, walls inspected with you.

When one-day doesn't work

• Heavy wall damage requiring skim coat (overnight curing)
• Old wallpaper removal across multiple rooms
• Specialty finishes like limewash or microcement
• 5-room or executive flats with full ceiling repaint (usually 1.5 days)
