Bauhaus Rich / Statement Wellness Painting Theme

Bauhaus Rich pairs Gush Lemonade (YE004A) on the main walls with a Raffles Terracota limewash feature wall — a mixed, high-contrast playful colour scheme that feels bold, expressive. It suits the studio or family room, and works with primary accents, terrazzo, lacquer. Its mixed undertone shifts with the light, so 4000K neutral white keeps both colours honest. The Bauhaus was founded by architect Walter Gropius in 1919 in Weimar, Germany, as a school uniting art, craft and industrial production around functional form.

Design history

History and meaning

The Bauhaus was founded by architect Walter Gropius in 1919 in Weimar, Germany, as a school uniting art, craft and industrial production around functional form. It moved to Dessau in 1925 and to Berlin in 1932 before the Nazis closed it in 1933. Teachers included Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and Marcel Breuer, whose tubular-steel furniture became emblematic. The school fused primary colour, geometric form and honest industrial materials, and its diaspora after 1933 carried modernism worldwide, leaving a legacy of bold, expressive yet disciplined interiors built around primary accents, terrazzo and lacquer.

What it represents: It represents bold, expressive character through a playful colour palette and the recognisable visual language of Bauhaus.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give primary accents, terrazzo, lacquer a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

Terracota as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits primary accents, terrazzo, lacquer. The balanced undertone keeps the theme easy to live with, while the limewashed focal wall gives the room a gentle design anchor.
