Havana Retro Rich / Statement Wellness Painting Theme

Havana Retro Rich pairs Gush Homecoming (PI012B) on the main walls with a Raffles Terracota limewash feature wall — a warm, high-contrast soft pastel scheme that feels cheerful, gentle. It suits the bedroom or nursery, and works with pale oak, cotton, ceramic. Its warm undertone glows under 3000K warm white in the evening; under 5000K daylight bulbs it reads cleaner and less golden. Havana Retro draws on the architecture and material culture of Havana, whose early-twentieth-century heyday produced Art Deco and 1950s American-influenced modern interiors before the 1959 revolution preserved them in aspic.

Design history

History and meaning

Havana Retro draws on the architecture and material culture of Havana, whose early-twentieth-century heyday produced Art Deco and 1950s American-influenced modern interiors before the 1959 revolution preserved them in aspic. The city's mid-century hotels, tiled floors, pastel facades and American cars of the 1950s define a distinctive retro-Caribbean aesthetic. The aesthetic favours pale oak, cotton and ceramic within a soft-pastel palette, so a living room reads as cheerful and gentle, where mid-century Havana material culture defines a warm, nostalgic and characterful room.

What it represents: It represents cheerful, gentle character through a soft pastel palette and the recognisable visual language of Havana Retro.

Why it works here: Here, the smooth Gush walls and softly textured Raffles limewash give pale oak, cotton, ceramic a coherent backdrop, making the theme practical for the home.

Colour wellness

How it feels at home

Homecoming on the main walls keeps the Havana Retro scheme richer, more anchored and practical for bedroom / nursery. Terracota as the Raffles R.LIMEWASH feature wall gives a subtle mineral layer that fits pale oak, cotton, ceramic. The warm undertone makes the room feel settled and welcoming, while the limewashed focal wall adds sun-baked texture without making the home feel heavy.

Colours under different light

From warm evening to clear daylight
