Anti-Mould Paint Singapore: Zinsser Perma-White vs Nippon Anti-Mould
Two paints, two philosophies. Zinsser bonds the mildewcide into the cured paint film. Nippon's anti-mould range applies the mildewcide as a surface-active layer. In Singapore's 80% RH, that difference decides how long the paint survives a damp cloth. We have applied both — here is the honest comparison.

The one difference that matters
Anti-mould paint either has the mildewcide bonded into the cured film or applied as a surface-active layer. The first survives wipe-downs; the second loses effectiveness as the wall is cleaned. Everything else — sheen, opacity, drying time — is secondary in a Singapore bathroom or kitchen.

What we specify, and why
On every Pico X Health Signature service we specify Zinsser Perma-White as the standard interior film, including in HDB and BTO units where mould pressure is highest. Nippon Anti-Mould is a competent paint and a sensible budget choice for dry-zone mould-prone walls — bedrooms with poor cross-ventilation, for example. It is not what we would put on a bathroom ceiling or the wall above a kitchen hob.
If you have already painted with Nippon Anti-Mould
You do not need to hack the wall. The path is: fungicidal wash, light sand, one Zinsser sealer coat where needed, then two coats Perma-White. We do this on roughly one in three remediation jobs.
The honest verdict
For Singapore's humidity, the bonded-mildewcide system wins on durability. If the budget is tight and the wall is genuinely dry (bedroom, hallway), Nippon Anti-Mould is fine. For wet zones — bathroom, kitchen, AC corners — specify Zinsser Perma-White, and don't second-guess it.
